Regional Strategic Plan

A Regional Strategic Plan sets out the general long-term development aims and associated strategies for the region. It is a response to the questions “What should be developed?” and “Why?”. The plan is updated every four years.

The plan for Uusimaa is the product of an extensive consultation process involving all major stakeholders in the region and in the state administration.  The plan aims at creating strategic partnerships among key regional actors in order to implement the prioritized actions.

The current Regional Strategic Plan identifies four important strategic themes structuring the development process.

The four themes are:

  • Housing
  • Business and competence
  • Well-being
  • Infrastructure and environment

Within each theme, the plan identifies a strategic objective and a set of required measures. For each theme, the plan also provides an ex-ante impact assessment.
