The Board 

The work of the Uusimaa Regional Council is supervised by the Board. The President of the Board is elected by the Council every four years. The Board consists of 20 members.

The composition of the Board, like that of the Council, reflects the seats of the political parties in the most recent local election. The population size of each municipality determines the number of board members.

The Board prepares the agenda for the half-yearly meetings of the Council, initiates the implementation of Council decisions, monitors and promotes the interests of the Helsinki-Uusimaa Region in general.
