Helsinki EU Office and Helsinki Centre in St. Petersburg


The Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council has two representative offices abroad: the Helsinki EU Office in Brussels and the Helsinki Centre in St. Petersburg. The Helsinki EU Office in Brussels is also administrated by Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council.

Helsinki EU Office

The Helsinki EU Office is situated in Brussels and shared by the Regional Councils of Helsinki-Uusimaa, Häme, Kymenlaakso and Päijät-Häme and also by the City of Helsinki, City of Espoo,  and University of Helsinki, the Aalto University of Art, Design and Architecture, Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Laurea University of Applied Sciences and  Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).  

The office promotes the interests and visibility of its owners in EU forums and offers information on current issues like the legislative drafting of the EU, the financing programmes within the EU and possibilities for international cooperation in general.

The office is actively following up the European urban and cohesion policies, research and innovation policies, maritime policies, traffic and health policies, as well as environment and energy policies.

The Helsinki Centre in St. Petersburg

The Helsinki Centre in St. Petersburg represents the cities of Helsinki, Tampere and Kotka and their regional partners.

The office promotes city relations and the visibility of its partners in St. Petersburg. It also facilitates partner search and cooperation between entrepreneurs and other actors.
