Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions: Regions valuable as EU backbone 26.10.2017
Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council invited the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions partner organisation (CPMR) to the annual general assembly that was held in the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki in October 2017. The assembly had about 240 participants from all over Europe. The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) is the most influential think thank that represents European maritime regions. About 160 regions from 28 different European countries are represented in the organisation.

Break up the silos – Connecting regions to the TEN-T corridors 18.06.2017
The 8th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region took place in Berlin 13-14 June. The theme of the Forum was connectivity. The Forum highlighted the necessity to intensify contacts throughout the BSR including its neighbouring regions and to develop a better awareness of each other’s perspectives. The EUSBSR Priority Area Transport and Horizontal Action Spatial Planning coordinators together with the three transport flagship projects contributed to the connectivity theme by a joint session on “Regional cooperation to connect regions to the TEN-T corridors”.
