The Helsinki West Harbour area and its surroundings called Jätkäsaari is an international transport hub and corridor as well as long-time development site of transport-related R&D and home of real-life mobility challenges. Intensive development of the area and growth in transport are challenging the transport system and services to enable smooth and efficient mo-bility of people and goods. The Helsinki West Harbour area and its surroundings is illustrated in Figure 1.


09.05.2017 3rd Regional Workshop on improved accessibility along the North Sea- Baltic Corridor held in Riga


The 3rd Regional Workshop of the NSB CoRe project on improved accessibility along the North Sea-Baltic Corridor took place in Riga on April 4, 2017. Local, regional and national authorities on spatial and transport planning were invited to join the discussion, and contribute towards identification of strengths, opportunities, main obstacles and risks, which should be addressed during elaboration of the joint spatial vision of the NSB CoRe corridor. The spatial vision is being developed by VASAB secretariat and will be one of the outputs of the NSB CoRe project.
