NSB Core – North Sea Baltic Connector of Regions
The Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme financed NSB CoRe project aims to improve the sustainable accessibility of the Eastern Baltic Sea Region to freight and passenger transport. The Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council is the lead partner of the project.
11.05.2018 Moving Conference on the move
As part of the NSB CORe project the Senate Administration for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection of City of Berlin has organized a „Moving Conference“ from 9th to 16th May 2018 along the North Sea-Baltic Corridor from Berlin via Poznań, Łódź, Warsaw, Kaunas, Riga, Tallinn and Helsinki to Vaasa and Umeå. The conference will take place both in scheduled trains and in special trains.
NSB CoRe WP 4 case study on the Helsinki Airport Rail Corridor has been finalised. The study is a key spatial and economic investigation of the Helsinki capital region that aims to evaluate the spatial development potential and economic agglomeration benefits of a new direct railway link connecting Helsinki International Airport and Helsinki city centre. The study aims to provide a basic understanding of the potential this corridor axis may bring and the accessibility for the capital region. The study is linked to the integrated framework evaluation of connecting Helsinki and Finland by rail tunnel via Tallinn to mainland Europe.
