NSB Core – North Sea Baltic Connector of Regions
The Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme financed NSB CoRe project aims to improve the sustainable accessibility of the Eastern Baltic Sea Region to freight and passenger transport. The Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council is the lead partner of the project.
The 3rd Regional Workshop of the NSB CoRe project on improved accessibility along the North Sea-Baltic Corridor took place in Riga on April 4, 2017. Local, regional and national authorities on spatial and transport planning were invited to join the discussion, and contribute towards identification of strengths, opportunities, main obstacles and risks, which should be addressed during elaboration of the joint spatial vision of the NSB CoRe corridor. The spatial vision is being developed by VASAB secretariat and will be one of the outputs of the NSB CoRe project.
“Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017 – Building a New Economic Corridor” took place on 24 April in Riga. The high-level conference was organized by “RB Rail AS”, a joint venture by the three Baltic States, with the support of the global project’s national implementing bodies – Rail Baltic Estonia, Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas and Rail Baltica statyba.
